Go to a good salon. Be apart of model/ training programs for a discounted rate. Ask for a demi permanent hair color to even your tone out. I wouldn't DIY this time since you damaged your hair in the past.

i think you could probably re-dye it with brown, but maybe you should ask a professional hair stylist for advice, and then find the cheapest way of fulfilling her advice

I don't know how long your hair is, but maybe you should cut off the dyed ends.

i have dyed my hair red before, and no matter how many times you dye it back to brown, the red never fully leaves until its grown out. when the hair dye fades, it will have red in your hair still. try dying it brown, and then get a hair cut in a few months. the short hair will get rid of a lot of the fried ends and look a lot cleaner. even if you want long hair, long hair with fried out red ends will look a lot uglier than shorter brown. hope this helps!

use a repairing shampoo or conditioner and get a hair cut to trim off the discolored ends. wash it a lot to get rid of teh dye
