brunette is french for dark haired girl , which means dark or pretty much any shade of brown .

Well, I would use the term brunette to describe someone with dark-brown hair but I wouldn't use it to describe someone with black hair.



Brunette can be any range of brownish coloured hair that can otherwise be described as Amber, Maple, Chestnut, or Espresso coloured. At least, those are the terms Brilliant Brunette products by John Frieda use to describe the varying shades of brunette.



Personally, I like to refer to my hair as Chestnut :-) Hope this answer helps!

brunette is anywhere from light brown to dark brown hair. as a stylist when i hear brunette i think of a rich, warm monochromatic color.



most hair color companies believe the only true group with black hair are of Asian decent.

True brunettes have chocolate to dark brown hair, brown eyes, and olive skin. Light brown shades may be called "light brunettes" or even blondes.
