Dyed hair dark brown miserable?

My hair was light (with hilites) before I dyed it this past November. I have hilited it twice since then. It now has some reddish-orange tints and a general green tint, with the extra "blonde" pieces being gray. I do not like the Brown at all and want my dark blonde/light brown with hi lites back. I was thinking of getting my hair foiled, would that achieve my original color? Or can I use another at home hi liting kit? Thanks!

Well, it's all dependent on what your natural color is, what color you put in your hair, and if you did it with a "boxed color" like the ones you get in the pharmacy. I'm currently in cosmetology school, and all of those factors come into play. If you can give me a detailed response of exactly what is in your hair, the color can be corrected, but it will depend on how much damage is already done to your hair, and what products you used. Obviously it sounds like you have natural "red" undertones, but those can be corrected if you're wanting to go lighter!!! Give me a yell!

STOP DOING IT YOURSELF AT HOME!!! you need corrective color, you shouldnt be green. go to a salon. and "getting your hair foiled" means a lot of different things. anytime you get a highlight in your hair they put foil around it to keep the colors from bleeding into eachother. go to the salon, tell them what you want it to look like, and dont do it at home anymore!

I think you should get it done at the haird dressers and all over medium brown and then some blonde- as then the medium brown would cover up the previous hilites as they have changed colour. Itll take a few months to get it to a light brown again unless you want to keep the weird streaks you already have

If you have greens and redish-orange, I'd say go to a professional before trying anything at home. Ask and make sure they are a certified colorist because hair people do specialize in certain areas.
