I dyed my hair light brown when my normal color is Black.?

Bad mistake, ........anyways I dyed it the light brown color around 5 months ago and decided to just let it fad away naturally to keep my hair healthy, but now it seems like its stoped fading around half way so now my hair looks half black half brown which looks terrible, is striping the only way to get rid of the other color, can you even strip people with black hair? and last question is around how much does striping hair normaly cost.

I do not advise you to strip your dye out out because your case is not one which requires such extreme measures. The only time you should resort to stripping is when you have bleached your hair blonde and don't want it anymore or dyed it black which is also bleach. Stripping can damage your hair leaving it dry, brittle and, in most cases, severely discoloured %26amp; blotchy...from red, to orange, yellow and even grey...all at once!

Light brown is only a a few shades lighter than your natural hair colour, dye over it with darkest brown to match and all is well. It might fade into a deep burgundy after a period of a few months but dont fret, this is a natural undertone of brown dye and will only be a subtle shine, it might even compliment your dark hair!

Don't worry about your hair over drying because dye in the brown spectrum is more gentle on the hair, not like bleach. You should incorporate moisturising shampoo into your usual haircare regimen - whether you dye your hair or not (unless you have already oily hair of course but, in any case, a shampoo that protects your hair from potential damage)

Goodluck

I paid $85 to have mine done, and it looked like orange, black and brown shite. I hated it. Don't do that.

Well, look at it this way, black covers everything, redye it all black...Then condition and condition it and keep it in shape. It will be back to normal in no time. :) Don't worry... I've done the same thing.

I think i would dye my hair, try to match it with your real hair color and dye it that so then there isnt that huge difference in color. So your hair doesnt look so bad.

If your hair is already black and you colored it brown, you have lightened it. You cannot strip the lighter color from your hair, you can only strip darker colors from your hair. The best thing to do would be to go a salon and have a professional match up your natural color and color your hair back to its natural color. Good luck.

Its called having the color removed....by a color correction specialist....and it can run in the hundreds, if done correctly

You have lightened it......there is nothing to wash out... you should go to a good salon or I will give you the proper formulation to buy to match your hair to the dyed portion....

the single best answer?

go to the best Salon you can afford and have them fix it.
