I currently have blond highlights which i like except when they start to grow out it is too much of a contrast. She does a partial highlight and the hair underneath is really dark. Maybe I should get all over highlights perhaps??

Try a red - I have friends who use red highlights which blend in with the natural color of your hair. I never notice their roots until they bring it up!

A full highlight unfortunately will still show your roots. I myself am a brunette with highlights. What I do is request highlights and low lights. This really minimizes the dramatic line of your roots growing out. I get compliments daily. Try it, I guarantee you will love it. It is great for exactly this purpose. Plus its much more natural looking.

have the hairstylist do it assymetrically, it look so much natural that way.
